As you left
I laid my head
upon the dock...
Then I smothered out
my cigarette...
On your empty bottle top...
Heaved
At this point I know
that the silence I've received...
Hits me so much harder...
Than any words
you've ever heaved.
One
One thousand miles still separate you from me. And one year later I know this is exactly where I'm supposed to be.
Stained
Emotions remain
on the fabric
that held us...
Lonely stains
imprinted in a
cotton embrace...
3 S’s
Stars, stories, and silent tears... That's all you've left for me this year.
Smothered
As we walked
the lantern broke...
And our flame
became darkness.
Fading
I close my eyes
and try to picture
everything that
happened in those
moments...
But time has
already begun to
blur the details...
Dutifully and
without condolence.
Pretend
Sometimes I like to
remember the times with you
I know we never had...
Pages
As I read my book you cross my mind... Causing the words to blur as the story becomes insignificant. And soon I'm left lost in the pages... Unable to focus on anything but you.
