Obituary

How does one even begin to write an obituary?
How does one decide which details from decades of life deserve to be divulged in three to five paragraphs?

Do you need to list 'important dates' if the timelines no longer matter?
Are you really required to reintroduce the members of a family who were rarely around?
Should you feel sad and selfish about staking your name to the list of ‘survived by’?

How can such beautiful life be stuck into the small space between today's special events and the sports section?

There just is not enough room.
There simply is never enough time.
