There was a stranger in my home, and they hid perfectly. Lurking and snaking through the shadows, amusing themselves with the thrill of going unnoticed. They watched silently. Absorbing and observing the miniscule details, adding to their list of evidential flaws. And they searched intrusively. Prying and peering into the failed bits and miserable pieces of my daily life. There was a stranger in my home, and that stranger was me.

Wallower
You wallow in self-pity in hopes that someone takes note. You are narcissism at it's finest... Ignorant to reality and stunningly self-engrossed.
Details
Those details I held close are becoming less precise... For every day that I forget to remember.
3 Minutes
You were three minutes too late to say your last goodbyes... But I kept him comfortable through his final rasping sighs...
The Ending
We both know the ending. I won't find you nor will you find me.
Stripped
Now you lay here alone. Aged by bad habits fueled by your lack of self worth... Stripped of your youth with those gaunt cheeks and sunken eyes... Stunningly jaundice and contently reeking of your own filth. Yet you regret nothing... And still disapprove of everyone and everything life ever offers you.
Hide-And-Seek
It's like a version of hide-and-seek... But we're not children... And there's no known rules... Or foreseeable end in sight. Because the person who's been doing all the searching... Is the same one still waiting to be found.
Unexpected
I swear you were just here... Warm and alive. Preparing for tomorrow... Not expecting to die.But now the bed is cold and the curtains have shut... Hiding the white linen sheets left stained in disgust.
2019
Summer 2019 is unforgettable to me... in Minneapolis where I always felt free. Friends with scooters and spilt milkshakes... tobacco shops and drunken mistakes. Uber drives in new-scented cars... with unlikely dives at classy gay bars. Cigarette butts and cold windy nights... hotel keys and blurred city lights. Crooked smiles and shitty leftovers... With a pancake house that fixed the hangovers.
Sullen
The disregarded details are what I remember... The sullen specifics I'd prefer to forget.
