Code Blue

The worst thing
about a code blue…

Is when the doctor finally
throws in the towel…

And you’re left there
looking at an empty body…

Realizing there’s nothing else
anyone can ever do.

This is so powerful. I always wondered how doctors/anyone in the medical field can deal with so many deaths. It’s so sad, and it reminds me of how we’re all going to be like that one day, and that I should use each moment wisely. Anyway, this is so beautiful as always, Hal 🖤🖤

Thank you. After you see so much death you start to become a little numb to it. Sometimes it just hits me more than other times depending on the person and situation.

Jesus Hal. This is dramatic and profound. This poem hits you like a ton of bricks 😐.

It’s so cool that you can share these experiences like this which most of us will never experience. It’s impossible to imagine repeatedly experiencing that, and how it must affect you, for good or for bad. 💙
